Bonjour,

We have been "away from AG" for something like 8 month because "we had
lost" our multicast connectivity and, as it appeared that no one else
around needed it..... we were about to give up.

Now we are able to restart our servers and services ---ArG... it seems
that we also missed the "new certificate" step--- for the community
here in France ...and so far it appears this community has not vanished.

Alas we are also using a lot of *Apple* machines and ... Ag does not
run on (mountain) Lion.

Browsing the mailing list, It seems that very few people actually use
apple machine and that AG will not be repackaged for Lion (?). Is this
something that can be done with a reasonnable effort or are there
unrecoverable issues with Python or etc...???

As an alternative, on Snow Leopart and now Mountain Lion we're using a
few linux software that are packaged by the FINK project "in a debian
way".
So the question is, would it be [easy (...) |interesting | relevant] to
try to build AG packages from source using FINK ? has someone tried
this before ?

Cordialement

Thats an interesting idea.

I don't use my Mac laptop for AG, mainly because the audio is so bad with the "native" AG installation. I have MacPorts (similar to Fink) installed and it could be a solution to the lack of native Mac packaging skills - definitely worth a try. Maybe I'll work on rat first to see if the audio is any better …
